BIOGRAPHY
18-year-old Simon Haje is a versatile, successful young German pianist with regular concert appearances and winner of numerous first prizes at renowned international piano competitions.
He was already able to gain stage experience at the age of five as a member of the children's choir of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. He has been taking piano lessons since the age of six and entered pre-college at the Berlin University of the Arts at the age of nine.
Simon Haje has received numerous awards and special prizes at international piano competitions. He received first prizes at the Piano Podium Munich, Schumann Competition Düsseldorf, Steinway Piano Competition and Piano Competition Enschede / Netherlands. This year alone he was able to win the first prize in four competitions in a row (Neuchatel, Aarhus, Kronberg, Orbetello).
Since he was a child, Simon Haje has made regular public appearances at home and abroad. As a pianist he has played in important venues including the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the Beethovenhaus Bonn and the Laeiszhalle Hamburg. He gave moderated recitals in the Palais Lichtenau in Potsdam, in the MS3 Theater, in the Christophori Piano Salon and in the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg.
Simon Haje made his orchestral debut at the age of 12 as a soloist in Bach's Harpsichord Concerto in D minor at the Schlosstheater Rheinsberg. At the age of 14 he performed Weber's Concert Piece in F minor with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. He made his debut in the Great Hall of the Konzerthaus in Berlin in 2020 with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. In 2022 he was a soloist in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic with Mendelssohn's 1st Piano Concerto. In 2022 and 2023 he performed Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
Simon Haje is a scholarship holder of "Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now", German Music Foundation, Musica Mundi Belgium and Daniel Hope Academy.
Because of his achievements, he was named a Young Steinway Artist in 2022.
